Sash Windows, Bay Window, and French Doors
The picturesque Napier Avenue in Fulham is renowned for its elegant residential architecture, and our team was honored to have the chance to contribute to its legacy. The property, a true gem situated on Napier Avenue, showcases classic sash windows – a signature feature of the neighborhood’s design.
Our mission was to upgrade the front bay sash windows, as well as others around the house, and install new, more advanced, double-glazed French doors and sidelights that would blend seamlessly with the existing ones.
The use of Sapele hardwood for these windows and doors was an essential choice, due to its inherent sturdiness and resistance to decay. This dense hardwood species is renowned for its robustness and reliability.
To ensure the longevity of the Sapele hardwood, our team employed a microporous spray painting technique. This method allows the wood to breathe, preventing rot or warping, while also providing unbeatable protection against the elements. The microporous paint will keep the windows and doors looking flawless for years to come.
Enhancing the project even further, we added double draught proofing to the windows and doors. This innovative technique effectively seals any gaps around the frames, preventing drafts and preserving the home’s internal temperature, thereby improving its energy efficiency.
Double glazing is a smart upgrade that provides numerous advantages. It enhances the home’s energy efficiency, keeping it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
