Bespoke Sash Windows & French Doors For Hammersmith Residents
Serving Period Homes Across Hammersmith W6
For homeowners across Hammersmith W6, preserving the character of traditional timber windows and doors requires specialist craftsmanship and a thorough understanding of the area’s architectural heritage. At Todi & Boys, we regularly work on period properties throughout W6, delivering bespoke sash windows and French doors that complement the original style of each home while meeting modern performance standards.
Many of the homes we restore and replace are located within or close to the Brook Green, St Peter’s Square, and Ravenscourt conservation areas, where maintaining authentic period details is particularly important. These neighbourhoods are well known for their elegant Victorian terraces and Edwardian mansion flats, each with distinctive proportions and original joinery that deserve careful attention during restoration or replacement.
Whether your property is close to Ravenscourt Park or along King Street, our experienced joiners manufacture every window and door to suit your home’s individual requirements. From like-for-like sash window replacements to bespoke French doors, we combine traditional joinery techniques with high-quality materials to help homeowners throughout Hammersmith W6 protect the character, value, and longevity of their period properties.

Periodic Problems Hammersmith Homeowners Face
Hammersmith is renowned for its charming homes, often showcasing distinctive architectural features such as high ceilings, ornate fireplaces, and elegant floor-to-ceiling timber sash windows. While these elements significantly enhance the character of the properties, they also present several recurring challenges.
Wood Rot and Deterioration
- The wooden frames of sash windows in Hammersmith homes are susceptible to rot over time, especially due to the area’s varying weather conditions
- Regular maintenance can help delay deterioration, but eventually, many windows may need significant repair or complete replacement
Single Glazing Challenges
- Many traditional sash windows and French doors in Hammersmith homes are single glazed, which offers inadequate insulation within the home
- Single glazing leads to drafts, making it challenging to maintain a comfortable indoor climate and increasing energy costs
Finding Quality Replacement Solutions
- Identifying local companies that provide high-quality, durable replacements for these period windows can be challenging
- Homeowners need solutions that preserve the aesthetic charm of their homes while enhancing functionality and durability

In Hammersmith, regulations for sash window replacements are designed to preserve the historical and architectural integrity of properties. While central London areas often have stringent guidelines requiring like-for-like specifications in style, design, and materials—such as single glazing and specific glass thickness—Hammersmith provides some flexibility within these parameters.
At Todi & Boys, our expertise ensures we navigate these local regulations seamlessly. We make sure that your replacement sash windows not only align with your aesthetic preferences but also comply with Hammersmith’s conservation area requirements.
Yes, all our wooden sash windows in Hammersmith come with reliable warranties tailored to your selected timber and maintenance needs. This assurance extends to our French doors and casement windows as well. Should any issues arise with your new sash windows, our team is committed to addressing them promptly and effectively.
At Todi & Boys, we prioritise the durability and quality of our products, offering up to a 50-year guarantee on Accoya timber. Our goal is to ensure that every customer in Hammersmith receives outstanding service and complete satisfaction with their sash windows.
For homeowners in Hammersmith, we highly recommend Accoya for its exceptional long-term benefits. Although it comes with a higher initial cost, Accoya offers superior value throughout the lifespan of your windows.
Choosing Accoya means you don’t have to worry about rot or frequent maintenance like painting, while also supporting environmental sustainability. However, we understand that each home is unique.
If you prefer a combination of Accoya and hardwood, particularly for areas exposed to severe weather, we can tailor our approach to meet your specific needs. At Todi & Boys, we specialise in working with various wood types and can help you explore the best options for your Hammersmith home.
Our factory and showroom are located in Chessington, and we proudly serve all areas across London, including Hammersmith.
